An established footwear company gets a new lease on their business with their rebranded, refreshed web application.

With over a century of design and craftsmanship, the Brown Shoe Company decided it was time to rebrand with a new name. Nolte partnered with New York company Collins to launch Caleres. While Collins was responsible for the rebranding project, Nolte took over the website development and support.

THE OVERVIEW

The Brown Company now named Caleres is a $2.6 billion publicly traded company with a diverse portfolio of global footwear brands,that include Naturalizer, Sam Edelman, Franco Sarto, Dr. Scholl’s, and Vince. They approached Nolte and Collins to better showcase the passion and glow of over a 137 years of hard work.

THE CHALLENGE

The idea was to develop a versatile cross-device / browser platform solution that showcased the integrity of the new Caleres brand, with a completely customized content management system, powered by WordPress.

THE JOURNEY

The overall project took 3 months to be launched. We relied on the assistance from stakeholders, and worked with Infor to integrate the human resources portion of the Caleres site. Other integrations included a real-time stock ticker and investors section served through a Business Wire integration.

DISCOVERY AND STRATEGY

The Collins team shared their design system for the rebrand, while we worked with them to transfer that into an online experience, which accurately represented the brand’s value proposition. For Collins, it was important to make sure that Caleres would further enforce the Brown Shoe company’s legacy. Also, it was of great importance that the site proved to be proactive, responsive, interactive and user-friendly for their customers.

THE SOLUTION

Nolte developed a custom WordPress theme for Caleres, created with Business Wire and Infor integrations. After the development, our work continued with support for the website, provided by our Nolte Care service.

THE IMPLEMENTATION

Consistent and frequent communication between all involved parties served as a guiding principle to ensure quality delivery for Caleres.
