Temple GCSE / Hybrid App
A beautifully brilliant app designed to test your skills
Temple GCSE is a study app for students to test their knowledge on selected subjects. Each subject is represented by a temple placed on a map. The goal is to build chosen temples (subjects) and to light the torch on top of the temples. In order to achieve this goal, the student must pass all tests placed in sub-topics inside each subject.
Nolte and the Temple GCSE team aligned on a unified product vision to make learning and studying for the GCSE exams fun and easily accessible, while also helping students pass their exams.
We leveraged the Ionic framework for iOS and Android applications as they allowed us to cover both markets with one single code base.
LOW POLY MODELS
In order to build low poly models with interesting shades and details, Cinema4D was used in combination with Adobe After Effects.
USER INTERFACE DESIGN
From the start, we aimed for a clean and playful style with a focus on highly-engaging graphics and actions. We created a completely customized user interface kit which included all elements for the application, leveraging proven ui and ux methodologies such as, material design.
User experience is improved with animated elements which also makes test flows more interesting as the student cycles through each subject.
Each temple on the map, represents a different subject and each subject is differentiated by contrasting temple ambients and textures. The following is a preview of each temple in its completed view.
MAP VIEW TEMPLE LEVELING
As the student completes passes all tests inside a subject, energy appears on top of the temple which suggests 100% completion of that particular subject.

We worked alongside Temple GCSE to determine key performance indicators for measurement of engagement in the application, as well as conversion. Several tools have been implemented into the application and we work alongside the client to consult, measure and report ongoing metrics which will drive future product iterations.
